Grants, scholarships and prizes assist Victorian nurses undertake further professional development

The Australian Nursing Federation (Victorian Branch) offers a series of annual grants, scholarships and prizes as part of its commitment to assist members achieve nursing excellence and improved patient outcomes.
These grants and awards include masters and PhD research, research projects, further clinical education, midwifery, regional oncology nursing, gerontology and occupational health nursing and final year undergraduate and TAFE nursing students.

Members can also apply for the ANF Members Equity Conference Grants which provide financial assistance to Victorian members to enhance their professional development by presenting at or attending a conference.
The ANF HESTA Nursing Volunteer Assistance Fund helps nurses undertake volunteer work in Australia or overseas, especially in cases where nurses are not able to take paid annual leave.

ANF recently established a Humanitarian Grant to assist refugees who come to Victoria with nursing qualifications to obtain their nursing registration or to assist refugees undertake an undergraduate nursing qualification.  

Criteria vary for each grant and award, but usually eligible applicants are required to have been an ANF (Vic Branch) member for at least 12 months. This does not apply in the case of the Humanitarian Grant.
