DISCUSSION QUESTION

The prevalence of mental health disorder among people aged 18-24 years is 27%, more than one in four young people (AIHW 2007).

Read the paper by Webster and Harrison 'Constructing a research based pre-care model to improve mental health interventions for young people' in Volume 25 Issue 4 of AJAN.

Do you agree with the finding that young people with mental health issues go through a four stage process as they seek to come to terms with what is happening to them? Do you find the 'maza to care' model is helpful in providing mental health care to young people? Have you any other suggestions?

A summary of responses (de-identified) will be published online.
